How Does Invisalign Work?
- Consultation: During your initial consultation at East Main Street Dental, our certified Invisalign providers will discuss your orthodontic needs and examine whether Invisalign is the right choice for you.
- Custom Plan: We use a digital scanning system to create precise 3D images of your teeth. From these images, a custom treatment plan is developed, including the exact movements of your teeth and the duration of your treatment. You’ll even get to see how your teeth will look after treatment.
- Receiving Your Aligners: You’ll receive a series of custom-made aligners to wear, each for about two weeks, before moving on to the next set in the series. While aligners should be worn for 20 to 22 hours a day, they can be removed for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing.
- Progress: You will visit us approximately every six weeks to monitor your progress and receive new aligners. The total duration of treatment varies by individual but typically ranges from 12 to 24 months.
Post-Treatment
After completing your Invisalign treatment, you may need to use a retainer to help maintain your new smile. We will discuss the best post-treatment plan for you to ensure your teeth remain in their new position.
